ELMONT -- Back in 1982, when there were three different winners in the Triple Crown series, they all converged at Saratoga to run in the Travers that summer and made it one of the most anticipated editions of the ``Midsummer Classic.''

Kentucky Derby winner Gato del Sol came to Saratoga under the tutelage of Howie Tesher, deputizing for the late Eddie Gregson. Preakness winner Aloma's Ruler and Belmont Stakes champion Conquistador Cielo, who both skipped the Derby, also showed up at Saratoga for the big race.
