THE All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA), expressing concern over the newly introduced online system of registration by examination boards of the province, has demanded restoration of the previous manual process.
Addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club on Tuesday, APPSMA President Adeeb Jawadani and other office-bearers said the online system had completely failed and added to the miseries of innocent students. They further said owing to lack of computer facilities at private as well as public schools, the private internet cafEes were fleecing the students and were charging Rs 200 for just one form.
They also said the private schools were earlier delivered roll number slips on their own premises but now the same were to be collected from certain government schools, adding this whole exercise was creating a lot of problems for students and their parents as well as management of the schools.
They also expressed concern, saying the candidates who had been issued roll number slips had not been informed about the practical examination contrary to the previous practice. APPSMA office-bearers also criticised the examination boards for alleged mismanagement in allotment of examination centres. Giving an example, they claimed that students of a private school in Shahdra area were allotted centres in Sheikhupura.
